About

I love baking and cooking. Years ago I learned how easy it is to make a delicious cake from scratch. From that point on I ditched boxed mixes altogether. However, as  my life has gotten busier (kids + work) and more complex (kids + work) I will rarely use a recipe that can’t be made in, or adapted to, one simple bowl. I want to grab what I need, measure it, mix it, beat it, bake it, and enjoy it with my family! One bowl = Good. Complicated recipes with uber involved steps resulting in a giant pile of dirty dishes and hours wasted = Bad. To be honest, most of my cakes have now turned into cupcakes because they are the easiest thing ever!

This is the same philosophy I apply to much of my life and the idea that sparked this blog. If I can find a way to simplify something, I will. I found that I was always online searching for ideas to help me with my daughter, whether that was from other blogs, websites or friends who live all around the country. Then last year it hit me, why not gather all of this information and put it in one place for people to access. So, I pulled together a core group of amazing women to share their areas of expertise, their tips & tricks, ideas for projects to do with your kids, and insight from their everyday lives. I hope that this blog will provide some great, simple ingredients and one bowl recipes in all areas of parenting and be a resource for other parents out there so that they can relax and enjoy the time that they have with their kids.

About Chieko: So here’s my spiel- I am mom to two amazing girls (one mine biologically, the other I have raised since she was three and continue to mother as much as possible even though her father and I are no longer together), I run my own social media marketing company and I am a photographer as well. I was born on the grounds of a Buddhist monastery in a small Northern California  town. I am half French though most days feel more like 90% French. Reading has always been my biggest escape. I love learning. I am a do-er and a fix-er and have recently learned the beauty of saying “NO”! Being a mom takes my breath away every single day (in a good way!). I now live in a small town in Montana with my daughter, my wonderful fly-fishing guide boyfriend, our pet cockroach Bob, and our three hens Josephine, Henrie and Rita.

Yoga and French About Liz:Hi! My name is Liz and I’m a mom of a soon-to-be kindergartener.  I also teach preschool and college French, I teach yoga, and I’m a director at a preschool.  I’m a hands-on kind of person and am always up for the challenge of trying to do something myself.  I love finding healthful recipes that are delicious and, of course, the easier the recipe, the more I like it! I spend a lot of time scouring books and the internet for fun activities to do, yummy recipes to make, and how to incorporate French and yoga into as much of my life as possible.  I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you and hearing your comments!

About Jessie About Jessie: My name is Jessie and I was born and raised in a small town in Northern California. My fondest memories of childhood are making, building and creating art with what surrounded me. My parents were always enthusiastic supporters and providers of tools and materials for our various creative projects. Enabling our children to “create” is so valuable in raising happy, healthy young people. As I have gotten older I have spent many years working with children and young adults in camps and organizations, which eventually led me to obtain my teaching credential. I am a step-mother to a beautiful 13 year old girl and look forward to the joys of motherhood in the coming years. Now, a graphic designer at a print shop and in the beginning stages of starting my own business, www.katziart.com, I am finding a space to continue those creative endeavors in my own life. I look forward to sharing fun, simple and beautiful ideas for you to share with your children.
